The main campus of UOW is located just 3km from the centre of the City of Wollongong, which is on the south coast of New South Wales, 80km south of Sydney. It is located on the South Coast Railway Line, which runs between Sydney and Wollongong and is served by the North Wollongong railway station.

With incredible ocean views and a trip to the beach mere footsteps away, this hotel is perfect for delegates. It is located on Wollongong’s scenic Blue Mile, meaning it’s close to all the best attractions, restaurants and cafes. It has restaurants and bars, as well as a pool, gym and sauna. It’s just a 28-minute ride to the venue 28-minute ride to the venue on the number 28 bus, or a 10-minute drive. You can hire bikes from the hotel, and with UoW only 4.2km away, it’s the perfect excuse for a bit of exercise. You can also walk 2 minutes from the hotel to the bus station, and catch a free shuttle bus (55A) from Kembla ST at Blacket ST to the venue, which takes about 16 minutes.
The cheapest and easiest way to get to Wollongong from the Airport is to catch a train. Sydney Trains operate commuter trains at regular intervals to Wollongong.
The train leaves from both the domestic and international arrivals areas, and all you have to do is get off at Wolli Creek and change to a train heading to Port Kiama, Bomaderry or Dapto.

Taxis don’t operate between the airport and Wollongong, although you can hire a private shuttle service. UOW recommends Leisure Coast Limousines.

Buses are the only form of public transport for travelling around Wollongong. Buses around Wollongong are on the Opal system. An Opal card is prepaid ticketing system. You need to load the card with money and then tap the card when you enter and exit the bus. You can get your Opal card and top up online, and at registered retailers. If you top up at a retailer, the money will be loaded instantaneously. If you elect to top up online, bear in mind that it can take up to 60-minutes for the money to appear in your account.
